While we are still marveling with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/birdingthestrait.com\/blog\/handbook-of-the-western-palearctic-birds-unboxing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Handbook of the Western Paleartic Birds<\/a>, August brings \u201cAfrican Raptors\u201d by Bill Clark and Rob Davies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2513 size-full\" title=\"African Raptors front cover by Rob Davies\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/9781472925695.jpg\" alt=\"African Raptors Book Cover\" width=\"420\" height=\"597\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>African Raptors<\/h2>\n<p>Africa is the continent of Raptors and, therefore, this comprehensive work will certainly fill a gap in the specialized literature.\u00a0The book features all the 106 African Raptors. It includes colour plates by Rob Davies and over 300 photographs. Indeed, it was with him that we photographed our first R\u00fcppell&#8217;s Vulture in the Strait of Gibraltar. At that time the published information on this African species was frustratingly scarce. This was especially true regarding immature plumages.
